150 HABS MOMENTS

September 2024 marks the 50 year anniversary of the school’s move to Elstree, the first of two milestones the school will be celebrating in the coming academic year.

The second is the 150th anniversary of the founding of the school in June 1875. We will be commemorating our founding through a series of events and projects throughout the year, culminating on Sunday 8 June 2025 with Old Haberdashers Day.

As part of the anniversary commemorations we are compiling a list of ‘150 Habs Girls Moments’. Think of it as something along the lines of the BBC’s ‘History of the World in 100 Objects’. We would love you to participate.

What memories do you have from your days at Habs that are especially meaningful for you? It could be something a favourite teacher said, something you did with a friend, a particular smell, the way the light streamed through the St Catherine's window at a certain time of day – you name it. It could be profound or it could be silly, but ideally it’s something that chimes with others in the Habs community (‘now that’s Habs!’) or maybe surprises them (‘wow, Habs has changed!’)

SHARE YOUR HABS GIRLS MEMORY by completing this form

The school archivist along with members of the senior leadership team will go through all forms submitted and we will be in touch with you directly if we would like further information.  Needless to say it will be a pleasure to read all submitted 'memories'.

Please contact Mrs Shalaka Karlekar, Alumnae Manager, at foundation@habselstree.org.uk or by telephone on 0208 266 1919 should you have any questions.
