The School and Old Girls' Club are in the very early stages of commissioning a stained glass in memory of former Headmistress Mrs Penney. An artist is still to be chosen but we are hoping that the new design will feature prominently in the redesigned Main Reception area.

Mrs Penney was a very much loved former Headmistress and died in September 2018 and will be remembered by all who were students and teachers at the school with her. She was a keen promoter of the idea of young women being confident and outgoing and personified these attributes. She was also incredibly personable and knew the names of all the students at the school, something on which she prided herself.

We are seeking the views of Old Girls to help us to create a wordle that could be included in a brief for any artist. Please send your thoughts, which could range from just a few words that you think sum up Mrs Penney to a longer reminicence of her and her time at Habs.

The image below gives an idea of where the window might be placed, although it does not represent a potential final design.

To contribute your ideas please email alumnae@habsgirls.org.uk.
