The students became the Master (class) on 6 June, as a half dozen young alumnae returned to school to talk Classics with their former teachers.
Classics students Kiana Rezakhanlou (OH 2020), Matilda Jackson-Long (OH 2021) and Hannah Newman (OH 2021) -- plus Risha Alimchandani (OH 2020) and Harry Derbyshire (OH 2017) joining by Zoom -- took time off from their university studies to discuss recent developments in Classics scholarship and how these might inform the Habs Classics curriculum.
The teachers and alumnae had an in-depth discussion about Classics studies at their respective universities and shared ideas on how Classics teaching at Habs Girls could be enriched to make it even more interesting and relevant to modern day issues such as gender and diversity.
The students were thrilled to come back to school and to see their teachers (Anna Saunders, Rebecca Pittard and Giulia Brunetta) and school friends, and it was evident how proud the teachers were of their former students.
